What a weekend! Moe FC congratulates fencers and coaches on their hard fought victories at NE Div’s biggest annual tournament. Lina Ma earned her A’15 and a Gold Medal with an upset over the top seed and many other worthy opponents. Alex Banks claimed the Championship Title in Vet Men’s Foil, while Katherine Kelly earned 7th and upgraded her rating to C ’15 in the senior women’s foil open. Nick Andrade upgraded his rating to B’15 over team mate and rising high school freshman Sam Gruber who himself upset a much higher seed to run into Nick. Annie Miall fired it up to take home a Bronze, with Dan Inger, Renaud LeDonné and Ryan Tsai also medalling in the quarter finals of their events. We salute ALL of our fencers, coaches and families at the tournament and at home, as these victories were earned through teamwork and camaraderie!

Registration for our annual youth competitive foil camp is now online. Don’t miss the pre-registration deadline! Here’s the link for a great week of training followed by a youth tournament.
Never ceases to surprise me how many people come out to train on a Friday night. Thanks for bringing in all that great energy!
Those of you who came in on Tuesday and Wednesday braved the low 74- 76 degrees that the club maintained during your training. That’s because the 2 new condensers we bought last year got squashed by snow!!!
We now have the new condensers installed and online so you will be much more comfortable. I, on the other hand will be complaining that it is too chilly in here!
See you soon!
– Coach Elif

Dear Moe Wen Fencing Community,
Here’s a thought to keep you warm through the predicted late season snow:
We are planning to do a soft roll out of a Yoga for Fencing program at the end of the Summer. The program will focus on mind and body exercises designed to help keep our fencers “in the moment” during training and competition.
I will keep you posted as we get closer to our start date.
